Be Your own assistant...

I’m a stickler for organization and systemizing, and this has helped me to be successful throughout my entire career (and as a busy single-mom of 3).
  • Ensure that everything has a place: I don’t want to waste time trying to find things, so I have a clear filing process for emails, documents, and to-dos. I use consistent naming across all platforms (e.g., there is a marketing folder in gmail, a marketing folder in gDrive, and a Marketing project in Asana.)
  • If you’re going to do it more than once, create a checklist or template: I get asked a lot of the same questions, so I have email templates that are clearly labeled that I can just copy and paste. I highlight the fields that are customizable such as names or dates, so I can easily change it each time. For my interviewing process, I have 6 major steps that need to be completed. Within each step there are checklists or templates I can use each time (position posting template, interview template, reference check template, scoring checklist, folder template, etc., etc.)
  • If you’re not good at it, create a process: I had no sales experience when I started. So I created a document I could use during my sales calls that outlined the key points I wanted to make, listed questions I could ask them, and laid out the answers to the commonly asked questions of me. I even included the basics so I wouldn’t get tongue tied with simple things like my name, small talk ideas, or my elevator pitch.
Sometimes you have to be your own assistant and do the nitty-gritty work of details and processes, but it will make things easier for you in the long-run. Start these habits now, before your business gets bigger and busier. Building your business on a strong foundation of organization will make everything easier to keep up with as your business grows.

I’d love to hear the processes you’ve created to make things easier and more efficient in your business. If you would like to connect, you can reach me in any of the ways below:

"Evolve was a lifesaver for me when it came to networking. I was new to networking and the thought of it was agonizing! I'm so grateful that my first experience was with Evolve. I was quite surprised and relieved by the warm and welcoming environment I walked into. I was surrounded by smart, interesting, and successful women who were also supportive, down to earth, and just all around good people. I realized there was nothing to be afraid of. I have not only enjoyed meeting many wonderful women, but have also greatly benefited in multiple ways: from gaining confidence by practicing my pitch at each meeting, to learning from the member speakers, and lastly growing my network times 10. My business is in an incredible stage of growth right now, and I credit a lot of that to the networking I have been able to do all because Evolve made it easy for me."

YOu Are Enough

Your Brain is Lying to You.

This week I am sad to say that I coached several people on their fear of not being enough.

Not thin enough
Not pretty enough
Not smart enough
Not masculine enough
Not successful enough
Not organized enough
Just not good enough

Let's settle this once and for all.

Being enough is not a real thing.

If it was, who decides that we are enough?
Where is the dividing line of enough /not enough?
Are babies enough?
At what point in that baby's life does he/she become not enough?
Really.
Ask yourself these questions. They don’t make sense.

And yet, we all FEEL unworthy at times.

Why?

Because every one of us has a brain that tells us that we are not enough.

And our brains will lie to us all day long.

My client’s are being real. They are being honest. They are being human.

This is a question that we all wrestle with. Our deepest fear is that we aren’t lovable or worthy enough to love and live well.

And It is normal. Nothing is wrong with you. It is exactly what is supposed to happen.

It is the job of our very well intentioned but somewhat misguided brain to protect us.

Each and every one of us have a brain that is hard wired to tell us that we are not enough in order to prevent us from doing anything that it considers risky, hard or just plain uncomfortable.

Our job is to simply understand how our brain works and then lovingly supervise it. We get to be in charge. We get to decide to stop using up our energy wondering if we are enough. It robs us of the energy that we need to get where we want to go.

THE QUESTION HAS ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED.

We were created to live and to love and to do it in our own unique way. We each have inherent value simply because we are alive.

CHOOSE to Believe it. FEEL your worthiness.

DECIDE to never entertain the question of your worthiness again.
DECIDE to love your life, your body, your job, your business right now.
DECIDE to take the energy that you spent feeling bad about yourself and now spend it on creating the life that you ARE worthy of.

Decide to do it from a place of love, joy and fun. It doesn’t have to be hard.

Consider this your personal invitation to love and to create the life of your dreams. All it takes is a decision.

Choose to have an amazing day worthy of you!

5 ways to live better

9/16/2019

As an entrepreneur, you are probably juggling numerous balls at the same time and quite often feeling a sense of overwhelm...the “am I getting anywhere” syndrome, “was this the right decision” worry and above all else...the “CAN I REALLY DO THIS” question...

During my entire life as an entrepreneur, I have learned some very specific strategies that have helped guide me through those “doubt” questions and move me forward into each adventure...I am an adventure seeker.

My Five Ways to Live Better approach has given me a focus point, attitude and centered approach to accomplishing how I want to show up in the world and make a difference ...everything you want to accomplish starts with YOU showing up BETTER in the WORLD...your success will fall into place as you become the best version of you...

1) Start Your Day With INSPIRATION
This can be as simple as reading for just a few minutes or working out while listening to a thought provoking podcast or book. Some of my favorites are inspirational leaders on YouTube. They help me think bigger and more focused and those 45 minutes on the treadmill fly by for me. Maybe you will become more centered after taking time to do 30 minutes of art or listening to some inspirational music. Whatever you decide to incorporate, your morning routine can set the tone for your day and your goal is to start your day INSPIRED!

2) Be YOUR Best
Be the BEST version of you! Remember, wherever you go, you take yourself with you so get up, show up and be READY! And it’s not easy all the time. But the fact remains that LIKE attracts LIKE. And the better you are, the more you will be surrounded by like minded people. We become the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with so choose your environment wisely! The goal is to be your best...be BETTER than yesterday!

3) Be MINDFUL With Your Choices
This area can be SO hard ...the truth is, we ARE stronger than we think! It just takes a second to pause and think…”will this be good for me?” “how will I feel afterwards?” This applies to so many things...eating, shopping, what we choose to SAY to someone... BE MINDFUL
So PAUSE...think, then choose. The goal is to REALIZE that you have the power to choose!

4) Be KIND
Always, always, always tell those you care about that you love them...EVERYDAY. Maybe help a stranger in need or ask the clerk at the store how she is doing ...look at their name tag and address them by name. I promise, you will lift them up and you will feel equally good. The goal here is to recognize the LOVE in your heart and use it to be BETTER!

5) Be PROUD of YOU
Too many times we are so HARD on ourselves! Take a time out and reflect on just how GOOD you are! I don’t mean boastful, I mean really realizing YOUR gifts, what you have to share with the world. There is only ONE of you, so be PROUD of that…you have gifts that ONLY YOU possess and it’s time for you to share them!

Social Media: The Matrix

9/12/2019

Hello? Anyone out there? Are you feeling like no one is seeing your social media post? Nothing more frustrating to create an amazing social media post with no engagement – can you say crickets!?!
Problem is linked to algorithms.  What is an algorithm anyways? “A process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.” What does that even mean? Basically, if you don’t find a way to play the algorithm matrix, you’ll be unnoticed if there isn’t a new way to capture your audience.
Facebook now suggest you pay to boost your post to get more visibility, but does that really work? Without the certainty it does, many have moved over to Instagram to only find they are still not getting the engagement.
For myself and my business I wanted to share with you what I’ve learned from some social media marketing experts that has been good for my visibility. Here’s what I’ve learned and use:
Commit fully to a consistent schedule for positing.  Example may include a Monday through Friday schedule and only add Sat and Sun if it seems aligned with your message. Develop consistent content that your tribe will expect.  I go live on Facebook with a Monday Motivation and TuneUp Thursdays. I’ve done this for over a year. I upload them to my YouTube channel and share across all the other social media platforms.
Hashtags work if you know how to work them.  Hashtags are good for others to search and find content on any platforms.  Instagram suggest using the most, around 25 hashtags, where Facebook and LinkedIn only 3-4.  Keep them consistent to your brand and use them on everything.
Words to avoid – as the algorithms get wiser, they are not allowing “anything sales related” unless you pay for the boost.  These words include buy, free, comment, tag, sale, discount, click.
Repurpose old content when you feel you have hit a wall in what to share, go back a year or two and find content that resonates with you.  Then make a new post with that content. Chances are your audience doesn’t remember it, and may you don’t either, but the timing may be right on point in this moment.
Lastly, being and keep it consistence and persistency.  Even if it seems now one is watching, they are. They may not be commenting or liking but they are seeing your message loud and clear. Trust and believe that to be true.  I had a client I met over three years prior and never communicated with her after are initial meeting. Out of the blue she contacts me and says I’ve been following you past three years and I want to hire you as my coach.  Trust and believe.

2x2x2

One of the biggest hurdles many entrepreneurs face is follow up. We know we should do it but we just don't know what to do or who to reach out to. So here are a few tips I've learned about follow up from two different direct sales groups.

2x2x2: Focus on the People
  • 2 Current Clients (Check in and ask for referrals)
  • 2 Potential Clients (Check in and answer questions)
  • 2 Past Clients (Survey questions or new offering in your company that may interest them)
2x2x2: Focus on the Time
  • 2 Days after the sale (How is it going? Any questions or issues?)
  • 2 Weeks after the sale (Any other products or services you have questions about?)
  • 2 Months after the sale (Upsell, replace items or services. Ask for referrals)
Pretty easy right?? What could you do with your business if you were following an easy system like 2x2x2? How do you structure your follow up? Have you ever used a system like this before?
